Unit 4: Multiplication and Division
During this unit we will:
- begin learning the basic multiplication facts (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10)
- solve multiplication and division story problems
- complete fact families
- solve for a in multiplication and division number sentences
- write a story problem that matches a given equation
We will be learning our multiplication facts through use of manipulatives (ex: cubes and counters), drawing pictures, and playing provided games. The more your child plays the games, the faster they will learn these facts. Studies show that rote memorization of multiplication facts aren't effective in the long term.
Check out these games to play with your child at home to support their fluency with these basic facts!
